Unveiling the Truth: A Mandarin Version of E-Book Challenges China’s South China Sea Claim

A senior Philippine Supreme Court Justice has made a groundbreaking move to debunk China’s historic claim over the resource-rich waters of the South China Sea. To educate the Chinese people and convince them that their government’s claim lacks legal basis, Justice Antonio Carpio has commissioned an e-book in Mandarin.

The book, a compilation of lectures on the historical, legal, economic, and political aspects of the South China Sea, features interactive maps, including one dated 1734. It aims to inform Filipinos about their maritime entitlements and the vast resources within the waters that belong to them and future generations.

With the hope of reaching the Chinese people despite the country’s strict media censorship, Carpio plans to release the e-book in various languages, including Vietnamese, Bahasa Indonesia, Japanese, and Spanish. The move aims to educate coastal states worldwide about their national interest in protecting maritime entitlements.
