The threat of impeachment is seen as an attempt to influence the ruling on Vizconde’s pending motion for reconsideration. Marquez emphasized that throwing accusations at the Court concerns the trust and confidence of the people in the justice system. The SC spokesperson expressed confidence that Justice Carpio will not dignify unsubstantiated accusations with a response.
