Retired Supreme Court Justice Antonio Carpio has dismissed the supposed agreement between the Bureau of Internal Revenue and the Presidential Commission on Good Government regarding Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s P203.8-billion estate tax as a ‘laughable falsehood.’
Carpio challenged Marcos’ camp to present proof of the agreement, calling it a ‘wrong decision that cannot be made dependent on another court’s ruling.’
Aksyon Demokratiko, led by Mayor Isko Moreno, has dared Marcos to pay the estate tax and even sent letters to both the BIR and PCGG regarding their claims.
