Former Supreme Court Associate Justice Antonio Carpio has expressed grave skepticism regarding the proposed code of conduct in the South China Sea. In an exclusive interview with ANC, he warned that China would likely exploit this development to further its interests in the disputed waters.
Carpio emphasized that the Philippines should remain vigilant and not fall prey to China’s diplomatic efforts. He pointed out that Beijing has a history of using codes of conduct to advance its territorial claims without making significant concessions.
