Former Senior Associate Justice Antonio Carpio has cautioned the Philippine Senate against proceeding with an impeachment case against Vice President Sara Duterte, pending the Supreme Court’s final decision on the matter.
Carpio believes that the High Court can potentially reverse its earlier ruling deeming certain articles of impeachment unconstitutional. Therefore, he advises the Senate to await the SC’s definitive verdict before taking action.
